Abstract:Aktivno sodelovanje partnerja ne le pozitivno vpliva na duševno in fizično zdravje matere, temveč tudi prispeva k boljšemu zdravju novorojenčka.

Title:Partner involvment for improving maternal and newborn health
Abstract:The active involvement of the partner not only has a positive effect on the mental and physical health of the mother, but also contributes to the better health of the newborn baby. The purpose of the final work is to analyze the importance of integrating the partner in the care of the mother and the newborn by the literature. Methods: We carried out an overview of the professional literature obtained in the databases of CinaHL Ultimate, Pubmed, Science Direct, Cochrane Library and Google Show. The research was classified by the hierarchy of evidence and evaluated the power of evidence. A critical assessment of the evidence was carried out with the help of the Joann Briggs Institute's critical assessment tools. Results: Research highlights the importance of emotional support from a partner during pregnancy and postpartum, as it has been associated with lower levels of postpartum distress and greater stability in mothers. In addition to psychological effects, biological and physiological dimensions of stress have also been addressed, such as changes in cortisol, infant behavioral responses, and sleep disturbances, which are reduced by perceived partner support. Discussion and conclusion: The involvement of partners in the care of mothers and newborns is today recognized as one of the most important factors for improving health outcomes. In environments where healthcare professionals pay attention to partners, a greater level of involvement in the postpartum period is observed.
