Title:	Varnost starejših oseb z demenco v domačem okolju

Abstract:	Eden največjih globalnih izzivov zdravstvene in socialne oskrbe zaradi starajočega se prebivalstva predstavlja demenca, ki spada v skupino nevrodegenerativnih bolezni. Večina starejših oseb z demenco ostaja v domačem okolju, dokler je le mogoče, saj se tako ohranja njihova čustvena varnost in občutek domačnosti, vendar so bolj dovzetni za številna potencialna tveganja oz. nevarnosti. Namen zaključnega dela je raziskati, katere so učinkovite intervencije za zagotavljanje varnosti starejših oseb z demenco v domačem okolju. Pri pisanju smo uporabili deskriptivno ali opisno metodo dela. Raziskave so bile pridobljene iz podatkovnih baz PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate in Web of Science. Pregled literature smo predstavili s pomočjo PRISMA diagrama. Od 762 raziskav smo v končno analizo vključili sedem raziskav. Vse te raziskave kažejo, da je pomembna ustrezna zagotovitev varnosti starejših oseb z demenco v domačem okolju. Varnost starejših oseb z demenco v domačem okolju predstavlja ključen pomen za višjo kakovost življenja, ohranjanje dostojanstva, čim daljše samostojno bivanje in večjo varnost.

Title:	Safety of older people with dementia in home environment
Abstract:	Dementia, a group of neurodegenerative diseases, is one of the biggest global challenges to health and social care in the face of an ageing population. Most older people with dementia remain in their home environment for as long as possible to maintain their emotional security and sense of familiarity, but they are more vulnerable to a number of potential risks or hazards. The aim of this thesis is to explore what are effective interventions to ensure the safety of older people with dementia in the home environment. We used the descriptive or narrative method of writing. Research was obtained from PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate and Web of Science databases. The literature review was presented using the PRISM diagram. Out of 762 surveys, we included seven surveys in the final analysis. All of these studies show the importance of adequate safety provision for older people with dementia in the home environment. The safety of older people with dementia in their home environment is key to improving their quality of life, maintaining their dignity, living independently for as long as possible and increasing their safety.
