Zraven tega ogrevajo znatno količino sanitarne vode in povzročajo veliko količino odpadne hrane in odpadkov.

Title:Recommendations for carbon footprint reduction of Slovenian tourism : water-based experiences
Abstract:Recreation in nature is closely associated with natural water sources such as seas, rivers, and lakes. There are various forms of water tourism, such as coastal, riverside, thermal, and other forms of water-based tourism. These forms of tourism and associated accommodation facilities result in significant greenhouse gas emissions, primarily due to energy consumption to provide thermal comfort for tourists. Additionally, they heat a considerable amount of sanitary water and generate a large amount of food waste and refuse. Therefore, it is imperative to renovate existing accommodation facilities, paying attention to energy-efficient building renovation and replacing less efficient and carbon-intensive energy consumers. Greater utilisation of geothermal energy is also necessary, as it can serve multiple primary functions in tourist facilities: therapeutic, heating, and electricity production. One of the proposed measures is the electrification of water sports offerings through the use of electric-powered motor vehicles (e.g., watercraft). In the vicinity of water bodies, there are numerous habitats important for carbon sequestration, such as wetlands, marshes, and ponds. Therefore, significant caution is needed during the construction of new tourism infrastructure.
