Abstract:Cilj diplomske naloge je povzeti in povezati trenutno najbolj znane tipologije serijskih storilcev umorov in serijskih storilcev posilstev na jasen in pregleden način. Govorita in opisujeta tipologije serijskih morilcev in serijskih posiljevalcev. Naštete bodo najbolj raziskane in uporabljene tipologije. S tem namenom bo to zaključno delo prispevalo k boljšemu razumevanju fenomena serijskega nasilja.

Title:TYPOLOGIES OF SERIAL VIOLENT CRIME OFFENDERS
Abstract:The aim of this thesis is to summarise and link the most currently known typologies of serial murderers and serial rapists in a clear and transparent way. In the introductory part of the thesis, I will talk about crime in general. In particular, why violent crime is still such a complex problem in modern society. This will be followed by a chapter where I describe the impact of serial violent offenders on society. Although violent crime accounts for only a small proportion of all crime, the consequences are more far-reaching and affect not only the victim but can affect all parts of society. I will talk about the direct impact of the act on the victim, the impact on family members and friends, and the impact of such an act on society as a whole. I will also touch on the institutions and policies that are supposed to keep society safe and the importance of preventive action. The thesis will then proceed to the main two chapters. They will discuss and describe the typologies of serial killers and rapists. During my literature review, I came across many different typologies. The most widely researched and used typologies will be listed. Some are supported by studies, while others are based solely on the analysis of individual cases. In conclusion, I will touch on the limitations of typologies. Issues and credibility of typologies will also be addressed. Finally, I suggest that developmental, psychological, social, and cultural circumstances could be analyzed for a unified typology. This thesis will aim to contribute to a better understanding of the phenomenon of serial violence.
