Izbrana besedila v angleškem jeziku so obdelana s pomočjo algoritma Krajšavar (Kompara Lukančič, 2025), ki prepozna angleške krajšave in razveze v besedilih. Dobljeni pari nadaljnje oblikujejo glosarsko bazo varstvoslovnih besedil.

Title:Extraction of abbreviations from the field of criminal justice and security on the case of the typology of texts from the field of criminal justice and security in the english language
Abstract:The purpose of this final thesis is to classify criminal justice and security texts in the fields of police, military, and law, based on the text typology for the tourism industry, developed by Kompara Lukančič in 2025. Selected English-language texts are processed using the Krajšavar algorithm (Kompara Lukančič, 2025), which recognizes English abbreviations and their expanded forms in texts. The resulting pairs further contribute to the creation of a glossary database of criminal justice and security texts. The thesis highlights the issue of the lack of terminological resources in the field of criminal justice and security field. In the first—theoretical—part, it examines existing literature and the concept of terminology while addressing the shortage of reference materials. It presents the classification of criminal justice and security texts and the automatic recognition of abbreviations using the Krajšavar algorithm. The analysis of results shows differences in the representation of abbreviation-expansion pairs across various text typologies in the field of security science. The outcome of the research is a newly created glossary database, offering a small contribution towards filling the gap in police, military, and legal terminology.
