Title:Efficiency and usability of the Marprom Shop mobile application and comparison with the Urbana mobile application
Abstract:The thesis addresses smart city mobile applications, with a focus on public transportation systems in the Municipality of Maribor and the Municipality of Ljubljana. The aim of the research is the presentation of the public transportation system of the company Marprom and its mobile application Marprom Shop and to it's comparison with the mobile application Urbana used in Ljubljana. The thesis analyses the differences between the two systems and identifies the key functionalities that users expect from such applications. Furthermore, we conducted a survey among the users of the Marprom Shop application and, based on the collected responses and the evaluation criteria, we assessed the usability, efficiency and satisfaction of the users of the application. We found that Marprom Shop offers fewer functionalities compared to Urbana, especially in the integration of various services offered by the city. Users also expressed a desire for additional features within the app. The results show that the Marprom Shop mobile application fulfills its original purpose; however, there is a clear need for system upgrades and an improved user experience. Finally, the thesis suggests the improvement of the Marprom Shop application for better adaptation to the standards of modern smart cities.
