Iskanje je potekalo v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate, Cochrane Library, Google Scholar in COBISSA z vnaprej določenim iskalnim nizom in vključitvenimi kriteriji. Analiza in sinteza identificiranih člankov sta bili izvedeni s pomočjo evalvacijske in sintezne tabele ter z opisnim povzemanjem. Rezultati: Skupno smo identificirali 35 člankov in v končno analizo vključili 9 člankov. Ključni ukrepi preprečevanja okužb pri osebah z demenco v socialnovarstvenih zavodih so vzdrževanje primernega okolja, zdravstveno vzgojno delo osebja z vključevanjem oseb z demenco in njihovih svojcev, proaktivni pristopi, pravočasne intervencije, pri čemer so pomembne deeskalacijske tehnike komunikacije.

Particular difficulties arise in the surveillance and management of healthcare-associated infections. The purpose of the master's thesis is to explain the importance of infection prevention in people with dementia in social care institutions and to describe different approaches to their prevention. Methods: A review of the scientific literature was conducted. The search was conducted in the PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate, Cochrane Library, Google Scholar and COBISSA databases with a predefined search string and inclusion criteria. Analysis and synthesis of the identified articles were performed using an evaluation and synthesis table and descriptive summarization. Results: A total of 35 articles were identified. Nine articles were included in the final analysis. Key measures for preventing infections in people with dementia in social care institutions are maintaining an appropriate environment, health education of staff with the involvement of people with dementia and their relatives, proactive approaches, timely interventions, with de-escalation communication techniques being important.
