Title:Analysis of the energy balance and renewable energy sources in Slovenia based on the Energy Agency's 2023 report
Abstract:The Slovenian power system is comprehensively examined in this master's thesis, with emphasis placed on its structure, reliability and development during the energy transition Key data related to electricity generation, consumotion, losses and integration of renewable energy sources are presented. The thesis also analyzes electricity consumption and losses within the transmission and distribution networks. An analysis of self-sufficiency trends, the role of the distribution network and the impact of regulatory changes are also included. The legal framework surrounding self-consumption is thoroughly discussed, covering the associated rights and obligations of producers and consumers. The influence of legislative changes, such as the Act on Promoting the Use of Renewable Energy Sources, on the development of self-consumption and the integration of renewable energy sources into the electricity system is also assessed. The work focuses on a review of the Energy Agency's report for 2023 and analyzes the achievement of renewable energy sources targets, as well as future directions for the transition to a low-carbon society.
