Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava problematiko uvedbe električnih vozil v vozni park podjetja GLS, s poudarkom na enoti v Slovenski Bistrici. Cilj naloge je preveriti smiselnost zamenjave obstoječih dizelskih dostavnih in osebnih vozil z električnimi alternativami z vidika ekonomskih, okoljskih in operativnih dejavnikov.

Title:Analysis of the efficiency and justification for replacing diesel delivery vehicles with electric vehicles in GLS company
Abstract:This thesis addresses the implementation of electric vehicles in the vehicle fleet of GLS, with a focus on the distribution center in Slovenska Bistrica. The aim of the thesis is to assess the feasibility of replacing the current diesel delivery and company cars with electric alternatives, considering economic, environmental, and operational factors. The theoretical part presents key concepts of sustainable mobility, the characteristics of electric vehicles, cost aspects , and the environmental impact of transport. The empirical part includes an analysis of the current state of the company’s fleet, including the vehicle structure, average distances, fuel consumption, and emissions. Based on the collected data and employee survey results, a comparative analysis of diesel and electric vehicles was conducted. The results show that fleet electrification could bring long-term financial and environmental benefits, especially in urban areas. The SWOT analysis, total cost of ownership comparison and payback period calculation confirm that the introduction of electric vehicles at GLS Company is economically justified and environmentally desirable. The thesis concludes with proposals for further steps, including infrastructure expansion, gradual introduction of electric company cars, and continuous monitoring of energy consumption and system performance.
