| Abstract: | The right to play is expressly regulated in Article 31 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). It is a right that is often forgotten, overlooked, or denied to children. In particular, children from marginalized groups (such as those with disabilities, girls, and ethnic minorities) are deprived of this right. The child can assert their right to play in both non-digital and digital environments. Especially the latter significantly impacts children's lives. Based on Article 31 of the CRC, states have, on the one hand, the obligation to ensure children have the opportunity to play. On the other hand, they have the obligation to create a safe environment for children's play, including in the digital environment. |
