Title:Use of a digital platform for the purposes of the CELOTA association
Abstract:In the era of accelerated digital transformation, which is increasingly recognized as a key strategic imperative across all organizational forms, the non-profit sector is confronted with the need to digitalize and streamline its business processes. This master's thesis examines the use of the Odoo digital platform as an integrated business information solution to support the operations of a non-profit organization CELOTA. The primary focus of the thesis is on exploring the impact of implementing an open-source and modular solution on improving business processes and enhancing the transparency of the organization’s operations. The theoretical framework provides a comprehensive overview of business information systems, with an emphasis on ERP, CRM, and CMS solutions. It discusses their core characteristics, development, major providers, and functional scope, while paying particular attention to the overlaps and complementarities between these system categories. The theoretical research identifies a clear development shift towards next-generation extended business solutions, which are based on integrated modular architectures for supproting most areas of organizational activities. Within this context, the Odoo platform is presented as a representative solution, providing the foundation for the subsequent empirical investigation. The empirical part of the thesis includes a case study focused on association CELOTA. It encompasses an in-depth analysis of the associations’s existing processes, identification of operational needs, and an evaluation of the suitability and implementation potential of the Odoo to enhance the efficiency of the organization's operations. The findings demonstrate that Odoo represents an appropriate solution for supporting the operations of smaller organizations, as it is a cost-effective and user-friendly system that covers a wide range of business areas. Its implementation can deliver several key improvements, including the centralization of data and business processes, the automation of repetitive tasks, enhanced transparency of information, and improved communication with stakeholders. On this basis, the thesis contributes to a better understanding of the role of digital transformation in the non-profit sector, examines the applicability of the Odoo solution, and defines concrete guidelines for its implementation in the analyzed association.
