Tehnologija omogoča realistično, ponovljivo in prostorsko jasnejšo vizualizacijo dogodkov. S prikazom kraja dejanja v tridimenzionalni obliki, je omogočeno boljše razumevanje dinamike kaznivega dejanja. Uporabnikom omogoča gibanje v virtualnem prostoru, ogled sledi in analizo poteka dogodkov.

Title:Virtual reality and reconstruction of crime scene
Abstract:In the thesis, the use of virtual reality in reconstructing crime scenes was examined. This technology enables realistic, repeatable and spatially clearer visualisation of events. By presenting the crime scene in three-dimensional form, it facilitates a better understanding of the dynamics of the criminal act. Users can navigate through the virtual space, inspect traces, and analyse the sequence of events. It is most used by investigators, judges and jurors to enhance comprehension of the evidence. To create virtual reality content, methods such as photogrammetry, 3D scanning and computer modelling are employed. These techniques allow for the generation of a digital representations of the crime scene and enable user interaction with the virtual environment through motion sensors and virtual reality headsets. The advantages of virtual reality include precision, repeatability, and improved spatial awareness, while its limitations involve high costs, the need for specialized expertise, and the requirement for proper legal and ethical regulation. Special emphasis was placed on the legal admissibility of using virtual reality in criminal proceedings. It was found that Slovenian legislation does not yet regulate this area, whereas initial applications of virtual reality in courtrooms have already emerged abroad. For effective integration into investigative procedures, it must be supported by technical standards, ethical guidelines, legal provisions, cybersecurity measures, and appropriate legal frameworks.
