Title:Kompetence vodje raftinga

Abstract:Diplomsko delo raziskuje vodenje v adrenalinskih športih s poudarkom na vodenju raftinga v kriznih situacijah. Namen raziskave je raziskati ključne vodstvene kompetence, vodstvene stile ter vodenje v kriznih situacijah. Raziskali in analizirali smo vodjo ob nenadnem dvigu reke Save na rafting izletu, osredotočili smo se na njegov odziv, komunikacijo z ekipo in turisti ter na splošno ocenili njegove odločitve. Teoretični del vključuje koncepte čustvene inteligence, različne stile vodenja po Golemanu (2021). Opisane so tudi ključne kompetence rafting vodij, kot so trde in mehke veščine in pomen obvladovanja stresa ter kakovost komunikacije. V empiričnem delu smo uporabili kvalitativno metodo z izvedbo pol strukturiranih itervjujev z raft vodniki, ki so bili udeleženi v krizni situaciji in kvantitativna metoda z anketiranjem turistov, ki so bili na izletu. Cilj je bil ugotoviti, katere so vodstvene lastnosti, ki so bile ključne za uspešno izvedbo izleta v dani situaciji in kako so situacijo videli vodniki ter turisti. Rezultati raziskave so pokazali, da so vodniki zaupali v vodjo, zaupali njegovim odločitvam, in bili zadovoljni z njegovo komunikacijo. Turisti so izrazili občutek varnosti na izletu in ocenili izlet kot zelo pozitiven kljub povečani nevarnosti. Ključni dejavniki v krizni situaciji so bili dobra razporeditev nalog, dobra komunikacija in dobra presoja. Na podlagi rezultatov smo opazili, da bi lahko ekipa še bolj obvladala krizno situacijo, če bi take situacije večkrat vadili. Pri treningih bi bil poudarek na boljši komunikaciji s turisti v kriznih situacijah. Delo nam predstavi vodenje v adrenaliskih športih in nam ponuja smernice za uvajanje bodočih vodij v podobnih okoljih.

Title:Competencies of a rafting leader
Abstract:The thesis explores leadership in adventure sports, with a particular focus on rafting leadership in crisis situations. The aim of the research is to investigate the key leadership competencies, leadership styles, and approaches to managing crises. The study analyzes the actions of a rafting leader during a sudden rise in the Sava River, focusing on his response, communication with the team and tourists, and overall decision-making. The theoretical part includes concepts of emotional intelligence and various leadership styles according to Goleman (2021). It also outlines the essential competencies of rafting guides, such as hard and soft skills, the importance of stress management, and the quality of communication. In the empirical part, a qualitative method was used through semi-structured interviews with rafting guides who were involved in the crisis situation, and a quantitative method through a survey conducted among tourists who were on the trip. The goal was to identify which leadership qualities were crucial for the successful execution of the trip and how the situation was perceived by both the guides and the tourists. The results of the study showed that the guides trusted the leader, had confidence in his decisions, and were satisfied with his communication. Tourists reported feeling safe during the trip and rated the overall experience very positively despite the increased risk. Key factors in successfully managing the crisis included effective task distribution, clear communication, and good judgment. Based on the findings, it was observed that the team could manage such situations even more effectively if they practiced them more frequently. Training should place greater emphasis on improving communication with tourists during crisis situations. This work provides insight into leadership in adventure sports and offers valuable guidance for preparing future leaders in similar environments.
