Title:Analysis of television news report in an informational programme
Abstract:Television, as a mass medium, plays an important role in informing, educating, and entertaining the public. A significant part of informational programmes are television news reports, whose purpose is to raise awareness, inform the public, and provide a broader insight into social events. The aim of this thesis is to explore how television news reports are produced and what role they play in informing and connecting the public at different levels. The focus is placed on television news reports in the Slovenian context, with an emphasis on their purpose and relevance at both the local and national level. The theoretical part presents the types of news reports, their structure, and the production process. In the empirical part, three television news reports are analysed based on their structure. The main goal of the thesis was to produce an original television report, which allowed the theoretical knowledge to be connected with practical experience. The findings show that the quality of a news report depends on careful planning, verified information, appropriate technical execution, and the active role of the journalist in all stages of the production process. The research confirms that television news reports remain an indispensable part of informational programmes, as they significantly contribute to informing and connecting the public both locally and nationally.
