Podatki so bili obdelani s pomočjo deskriptivne in korelacijske statistične metode.

Title:The impact of crises on the transition of professional athletes
Abstract:This diploma thesis examines the transition of professional athletes from an active career to the post-competition period, focusing on the impact of various crisis situations, such as injuries, sudden loss of status, or financial difficulties, on this process. The transition from a sporting career often represents a demanding life turning point that exposes athletes to psychological, social, and economic challenges. The aim of the thesis is to explore how these crisis circumstances affect the success of career transition and how existing support mechanisms contribute to easier adaptation to a new stage of life. The thesis is positioned within the field of sport psychology, sports careers, and the professional and personal development of athletes. The following methods were used in the research: a systematic literature review, analysis of professional and scientific literature, and analysis of practical case studies. The data were processed using descriptive and correlation statistical methods. The results show that crisis situations significantly influence the difficulty of career transition, particularly in terms of psychological adjustment and sense of identity after the end of the sporting career. It was also found that existing support systems are often inadequate or inaccessible, which hinders a successful transition. On the basis of the findings, recommendations are given for improving current support strategies, including the introduction of more structured career counselling programmes and psychological support.
Keywords:• career transition of athletes, • crisis situations in sports, • support mechanisms.
