Title:Propulsion systems for space travel
Abstract:In this thesis, various propulsion systems used for space travel are discussed. The focus is on understanding the fundamental physical principles of motion in space, such as Newton’s third law, thrust, and specific impulse. The main groups of propulsion systems are presented: chemical propulsion, electric propulsion, nuclear propulsion, and conceptual or theoretical propulsion systems. For each group, the principles of operation, technical characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, as well as practical applications are described. Special emphasis is placed on the comparison of efficiency, reliability, and future development potential. The aim of the thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of existing and emerging solutions and to evaluate their potential for future space missions.
Keywords:space, rocket propulsion, chemical propulsion, electric propulsion, nuclear propulsion, conceptual propulsion systems
