Abstract:	Diplomsko delo raziskuje vpliv študija v tujini na osebne vrednote študentov, ki sodelujejo v izmenjavnih programih. Namen dela je ugotoviti, v kolikšni meri in na kakšen način bivanje v drugi državi vpliva na spremembo stališč, prioritet in identitete študentov. Poseben poudarek je namenjen dejavnikom, kot so dolžina trajanja izmenjave, kulturne razlike med državami, osebnostne značilnosti študentov ter njihova prejšnja mednarodna izkušnja. V teoretičnem delu je pojasnjen pojem osebnih vrednot, njihov razvoj ter vloga družbenega in kulturnega okolja pri njihovem oblikovanju. Empirični del obsega raziskavo, izvedeno med študenti pred in po izmenjavi, kjer so bile analizirane spremembe v njihovih vrednotah in stališčih. Rezultati kažejo, da študij v tujini prispeva k večji odprtosti, strpnosti, samostojnosti in samozavesti študentov, hkrati pa prinaša tudi izzive, med katerimi izstopata kulturni in povratni kulturni šok. Zaključuje se, da ima mednarodna mobilnost pomemben transformativni potencial v akademskem, osebnem in družbenem razvoju študentov.

Title:	The impact of studying abroad on the personal values of exchange students
Abstract:	The thesis explores the impact of studying abroad on the personal values of students participating in exchange programs. The aim of the research is to determine to what extent and in what ways living in another country influences changes in students’ attitudes, priorities, and identity. Special attention is given to factors such as the duration of the exchange, cultural differences between countries, students’ personality traits, and their previous international experiences. The theoretical part explains the concept of personal values, their development, and the role of the social and cultural environment in shaping them. The empirical part includes research conducted among students before and after the exchange, analyzing changes in their values and attitudes. The results show that studying abroad contributes to greater openness, tolerance, independence, and self-confidence, while also bringing challenges, particularly cultural and re-entry cultural shock. It is concluded that international mobility has significant transformative potential in the academic, personal, and social development of students.
