Abstract:	Diplomsko delo obravnava uvozno funkcijo ZDA, Kanade in Mehike. Z ekonometričnim pristopom smo analizirali vpliv izbranih dejavnikov na gibanje realnega uvoza v posamezni državi. Predstavili smo uvozna gibanja in strukturo uvoza za vsako izmed obravnavanih držav. Za oceno modelov smo uporabili metodo najmanjših kvadratov in preverili njihovo ustreznost z ekonometričnimi testi. Kot pojasnjevalne spremenljivke smo uporabili indeks industrijske proizvodnje, neposredne tuje investicije, realni efektivni devizni tečaj, indeks svetovne negotovosti in uvoz iz preteklega obdobja. Ugotovili smo, da so oblikovani modeli primerno specificirani, robustni in primerni za analizo obravnavane tematike. Rezultati kažejo, da so uvozne funkcije med državami različno oblikovane – na uvoz v ZDA vplivata predvsem manufaktura in tuje investicije, v Kanadi ima vpliv na uvoz realni efektivni devizni tečaj, v Mehiki pa ima pomemben negativen vpliv globalna negotovost.

Title:	Econometric analysis of the import function of USA, Canada and Mexico
Abstract:	The thesis addresses the import function of the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Using an econometric approach, we have analysed the influence of selected factors on the movement of real imports in each of the countries. We have presented import trends and the structure of imports for each of the examined countries. To evaluate the models, we used the least squares method and checked their suitability with econometric tests. As explanatory variables, we used the industrial production index, foreign direct investment, the real effective exchange rate, the world uncertainty index, and imports from the previous period. We concluded that the developed models are appropriately specified, robust, and suitable for the analysis of the examined topic. The results indicate that the import functions are shaped differently among the countries; in the USA, imports are influenced mainly by manufacturing and foreign investment, in Canada by the real effective exchange rate, while in Mexico, global uncertainty has a significant negative impact.
