Title:Planning and organising the transport of goods by company X
Abstract:This thesis analyses the planning and organisation of transport in a company specialised in live marketing and event management. It focuses on transport process efficiency, vehicle fleet utilisation, and cost optimisation. The study is based on the case of the event "Vienna Ball," which involved extensive equipment transport from three warehouses to the event location. The analysis shows that using an in-house vehicle fleet provides greater flexibility, cost savings, and better control over service quality compared to hiring external providers. Findings also reveal potential improvements through digitalisation, route optimisation, and sustainability measures. The thesis offers concrete proposals to increase transport efficiency, reduce empty trips, improve vehicle utilisation, and implement cost-effective solutions that bring long-term benefits and competitive advantage to the company. In this context, staff competence plays a crucial role, significantly influencing the execution of logistics tasks and responsiveness in unpredictable situations. Furthermore, the analysis highlights the need for systematic monitoring of performance indicators, which enables more precise planning and real time adjustment of transport strategies.
