Abstract:Uspešnost na področju raziskav in razvoja je eden ključnih dejavnikov dolgoročnega gospodarskega napredka držav. Države skupine G7 in Kitajska prepoznavajo strateško pomembnost raziskovalno-razvojnega sektorja.

Title:The Competitiveness of G7 Countries and China in the Domain of Research and Development
Abstract:Success in the field of research and development is one of the key factors of a country’s long-term economic progress. The G7 countries and China recognize the strategic importance of the research and development sector. This is reflected in increased investments aimed at strengthening technological superiority, which has a significant impact on the entire economy. The G7 countries have long been at a high level of development and are among the leaders in the use of modern technologies, with the United States and Japan standing out for their research and innovation intensity. In the past decade, however, China has increasingly established itself as an important economic power, successfully exploiting its innovation potential and gradually catching up with the G7 countries. Empirical data show that the coronavirus pandemic has slowed down certain processes within the research and development sector, while at the same time forcing countries to adapt quickly to new economic conditions. The success of the analysed countries in the field of innovation is increasingly dependent on their ability to coordinate education, research and entrepreneurship policies, as well as on investments in strategic technologies.
