Title:Personalized digital image display for various types of color vision deficiencies using the daltonization method
Abstract:This Master's thesis presents the development of a software solution designed for people with colour vision deficiencies. First, the different types of colour vision deficiency caused by various impairments are described, followed by simulations that illustrate the daily challenges faced by people with colour vision deficiencies. A review of already established solutions highlights their main shortcomings, including personalisation for all types of colour blindness, lack of environment based adaptability and slow speed of recolouring. In the practical part of this thesis the process of development and implementation of a self-developed software solution for digital on-screen image recolouring is presented. The solution is based on a test consisting of isochromatic plates, with which we determine which colour centres in the image are confusing for the user. Through a minimization process, we search for replacement colours so that the confusing pairs become distinguishable, but deviate minimally from the original. Based on the conducted tests, we can conclude that our developed solution provides an acceptable user experience for individuals with colour vision deficiencies.
