Abstract:V raziskavi je bil preučen vpliv dveh načinov minimalne obdelave tal – plitve z uporabo krožne brane in globoke z uporabo podrahljača (riperja) – na uspešnost zasnove in produktivnost travno-deteljne mešanice (TDM).

Title:Influence of soil tillage depth on the establishment and initial growth of a grass clover mixture
Abstract:In this study, the effects of two methods of minimum tillage - shallow tillage with a disc harrow and deep tillage with a ripper — on the establishment success and productivity of a grass-clover mixture (GCM) were investigated. The aim of the study was to determine the tillage depth at which more favourable conditions for GCM emergence, growth and yield are achieved, while monitoring the level of weed infestation. The trial was conducted between August 2024 and April 2025 on the Ploj farm in the Slovenske gorice region. A one-hectare field was divided into two tillage variants and sampling was carried out in eight replicates. Plant emergence and density, weed infestation and the yield of fresh and dry matter at the first cut were assessed. The results showed that tillage depth had no statistically significant effect on emergence and early growth of GCM, although there was a trend towards higher plant density with deep tillage. Weed infestation was significantly higher with deep tillage (115.3 plants/m²) than with shallow tillage (66.7 plants/m2). Fresh matter and dry matter yields were numerically higher with deep tillage (17.7 tonnes/ha and 3.18 tonnes/ha respectively) than with shallow tillage (13.8 tonnes/ha and 2.94 tonnes/ha), but the differences were not statistically significant. It was concluded that deep minimum tillage can contribute to higher yields of GCM, but at the same time promotes higher weed infestation.
