Abstract:V magistrskem delu je obravnavana problematika iskanja in izbire strateških partnerjev za outsourcing in nearshoring v proizvodnih podjetjih, s posebnim poudarkom na regiji Srednje, Vzhodne in Jugovzhodne Evrope (CEE/SEE). Empirični del raziskave temelji na poglobljenih intervjujih z direktorjema proizvodnih podjetij, v katerih so bile podane praktične izkušnje z izvajanjem nearshoring strategij v regiji CEE/SEE.

Title:Outsourcing and nearshoring strategies in manufacturing companies: searching and selecting strategic partners in central, eastern and southeastern Europe
Abstract:This master's thesis addresses the issue of finding and selecting strategic partners for outsourcing and nearshoring in manufacturing companies, with a particular focus on Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe (CEE/SEE). The main objective of the thesis is to develop a structured and analytical model that enables manufacturing companies to make informed decisions about transferring production activities to these regions. The theoretical part presents key concepts and models, as well as current trends in global supply chains that influence companies' decisions to relocate production. This is followed by an analysis of the macroeconomic and micro-operational factors that influence the attractiveness of individual countries in the region. The empirical part of the research is based on in-depth interviews with the directors of manufacturing companies, who shared their practical experiences with the implementation of nearshoring strategies in the CEE/SEE region. The analysis of the interviews revealed that the main motives for relocating production to these countries include lower labor costs, logistical proximity to key markets, and increased operational flexibility. The importance of a comprehensive assessment of both macro and micro-location factors and the formation of competent local teams is also emphasized. Based on the findings, a model for finding and selecting strategic partners was developed, combining the phases of needs analysis, environment and partner assessment, ESG factor integration, and a structured decision-making process. The proposed model enables companies to systematically, comprehensively, and flexibly assess opportunities for outsourcing and nearshoring, thereby reducing risks and increasing long-term competitiveness.
