Abstract:Diplomsko delo se osredotoča na določanje fizikalno-kemijskih in transportnih lastnosti sistema PEG 35000/CO2. PEG-i se zaradi svoje fiziološke sprejemljivosti uporabljajo v medicini in živilski industriji.

Title:Determination of solubility and diffusion coefficients in the system peg 35000/CO 2
Abstract:The thesis focuses on determining the physicochemical and transport properties of the system PEG 35000/CO2. Due to their physiological acceptability, PEGs are used in medicine and the food industry. Due to the desire to reduce negative impacts on the environment and the demand for higher quality and safer products, new technologies are being researched in the chemical industry. Together with SC CO2, they are used in high-pressure processing technology for use in ever newer technologies. We determined the melting point of the system using the capillary method in an optical cell. The lowest melting point was measured at Tavg. = 53 °C at a pressure of Pavg. = 103 bar. The research shows comparability with the results of other studies, where the melting points on the temperature-pressure graph follow a similar trend. In a magnetic suspension balance, we measured the mass of the sample over a period of time and based on the measurements, constructed mathematical models in the form of graphs and calculated the diffusivity coefficients and solubility. The results showed inconsistency with the results of other studies due to errors such as temperature fluctuations in the vicinity of the device and incorrect measurement of the sample height in the container.
