Abstract:Magistrsko delo obravnava državljanske vojne v Rimu do smrti Publija Klodija Pulhra leta 52 pr. n. Dogodki v tej vojni so v veliki meri mitološki. V drugi polovici 2. stoletja pr. n. št. je prišlo do dveh državljanskih spopadov zaradi nasprotovanja reformam bratov Grakh. V 1. stoletju pr. n. Vojna se je končala komaj, ko so Sertorija izdali in umorili.

Title:Civil wars in Roman republic up to “he casting of the die"
Abstract:The master thesis deals with the civil wars in Rome until the death of Publius Cloudius Pulcher in 52 BCE. The first civil war is said to have taken place at the time of the collapse of the Roman Kingdom. The events of this war are largely mythological. In the second half of the 2nd century BCE there were two civil battles due to opposition to the reforms of the Grakh brothers. In the 1st century BCE, there were several civil wars. First, there was the War of the Allies. This was not a real civil war, but due to the temporal overlap, it affected the civil war between Gaius Marius and Cornelius Sulla. After the victory, Sula dealt with his opponents with proscriptions. The civil war continued in Hispania, where an army was assembled by Sertorius. The war ended only when Sertorius was betrayed and murdered. The next civil war broke out a decade later. Sergius Catiline gathered an army and tried to seize power in Rome, but his conspiracy was revealed in time by Marcus Cicero. Catiline's army was defeated and Catiline killed. Only a few years later Cloudius Pulcher began to ascend, intimidating and controlling life in Rome for many years with his street gangs. Annius Milo gathered his own gangs and killed Cloudius after several years of fighting inside Rome. The situation was calmed down by Pompey.
