Abstract:Judje so v več mestih na območju današnje Slovenije živeli že v srednjem veku, ob koncu katerega so bili izgnani.

Title:Tourism to places of jewish heritage in Slovenia
Abstract:Jews lived in several towns in the area of present-day Slovenia as early as the Middle Ages, at the end of which they were expelled. They were allowed to return to this area in the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century they already represented important members of local communities. Like many Jews throughout Europe, Jews in Slovenia were also targets of persecution during the Holocaust. Although only a few Jews live in Slovenia today, their ancestors left behind a rich cultural heritage that can be visited. Two preserved synagogues in Maribor and Lendava, and two cemeteries in Dolga vas pri Lendavi and Rožna Dolina pri Novi Gorici are worth highlighting. Some of these locations are already regularly visited by tourists, but this number could be increased in all of them. Data show that places of Jewish cultural heritage are visited mainly by foreign tourists, who are most interested in 20th-century Jewish history. Among these visitors are also around 10 % of Jews, who are generally more interested in nature than in cultural heritage. Considering the wishes of current tourists and the preserved heritage, a proposal for a tourist route through Jewish heritage in Slovenia was prepared at the end.
