Podatki so analizirani z metodo tematske analize. Pred začetkom so pridobljena soglasja etične komisije ustanove in udeležencev.

Title:Psychological support in the rehabilitation process of patients with spinal cord injury
Abstract:Spinal and spinal cord injuries are among the most challenging medical conditions, both in terms of treatment and rehabilitation. Psychological support is a key component of the comprehensive care of patients with spinal cord injury, as it is believed to significantly influence their treatment and recovery process.A qualitative methodology was applied through semi-structured interviews. Data were analysed using thematic analysis. Prior to the study, approval was obtained from the institution’s ethics committee as well as from the participants. The research included ten individuals who had sustained a spinal cord injury. The average age of participants was approximately 44 years. The analysis revealed a main theme: the impact of psychological support on the success of rehabilitation. The subthemes related to psychological support after the injury, including emotional experiences and support from relatives, as well as the support provided by healthcare professionals during hospitalisation and rehabilitation. The findings confirm the importance of psychological support in the rehabilitation of individuals with spinal cord injury. The availability of support contributes to greater motivation, optimism, and patient engagement. Although the success of rehabilitation was not directly assessed, key success factors emerged from participants’ personal experiences and behavioural responses. Psychological support plays an important role in achieving more successful rehabilitation outcomes for individuals with spinal cord injury, highlighting the need for additional training of healthcare professionals in this field.
