Otroci so bili glede na indeks telesne mase (ITM) razvrščeni v tri skupine: z normalno telesno težo (NTT), s prekomerno telesno težo (PTT) in z debelostjo (DEB). Poleg tega so bili telesno bolj aktivni in pogosteje vključeni v športne dejavnosti.

Title:Differences in eating habits and physical activity among children aged 9 to 11 with different nutritional status
Abstract:The purpose of the master's thesis was, by using a quantitative, non-experimental, and descriptive-comparative method, to research the differences in eating habits and physical activities among children aged 9 to 11 years, depending on their nutritional status. Based on the body mass index (BMI), the children were divided into three groups: normal weight (NW), overweight (OW), and obese (OB). The study involved 102 children from elementary schools, and data was collected by using a survey questionnaire that covered the frequency and type of meals, breakfast, snacking, and frequency of sports activities. Results showed statistically significant differences across the groups of children. Participants with normal body weight adhered to healthier dietary patterns, characterized by regular consumption of balanced meals and a lower intake of snacks, fast food and sugar-sweetened beverages. They were also more physically active and more frequently engaged in organized sports. Conversely, overweight and obese children reported higher consumption of snacks, fast food and sugar-sweetened beverages, which may contribute to increased energy intake. Furthermore, both overweight and obese groups participated less frequently in sports activities and allocated less time to physical exercise overall.
