| Abstract: | In this thesis, we will carry out a profitability analysis of relocating the R290 heat pump system from the production site in China to the Gorenje production in Velenje. The thesis will be divided into two parts: a cost comparison of the R290 HP system when manufactured by a supplier in China and transported to Velenje, and a simulation of the production line with a capacity assessment of the Gorenje production in Velenje.
In the first part, we will examine the R290 HP system from a cost perspective. For this purpose, we will derive the price of each component from the bill of materials of the R290 HP system and, by including customs duties, transport costs, and other expenses, we will obtain the actual cost of components if supplied to Velenje. In the next step, we will add overhead costs to the material costs in order to obtain the complete cost picture of the R290 HP system manufactured in Velenje. In the second part, we will focus on production capacity and the establishment of a production line at the company Gorenje. Using the Plant Simulation software package, we will simulate production in Velenje and, based on the results, verify whether the company’s capacity enables the relocation of the line. With the support of Gorenje’s technology department, we will define the standard times for each assembly operation of the system. These operations will then be grouped into workstations, after which the entire system will be simulated within the application.
Finally, we will evaluate all influencing factors and risks associated with relocating the production site to the Velenje production. The feasibility of relocation will be assessed from the perspective of risks, adaptability to changes, production costs, and company’s capacity in Velenje. For each scenario, we will provide arguments for and against relocation, and ultimately, based on the results of the analysis, we will present a conclusion regarding the feasibility of relocating the R290 HP system. |
