Uporabili smo naslednje podatkovne baze: PubMed, CINAHL in Web of Science. Otroci, ki odraščajo v družinah z ustreznimi prehranskimi vzorci, so bolje zaščiteni pred razvojem debelosti, medtem ko okolja, zaznamovana z nezdravo prehrano, neredno strukturo obrokov in pomanjkanjem starševskega nadzora, predstavljajo pomemben dejavnik tveganja.

Title:Family dietary habits as a risk factor for the development of obesity in children
Abstract:Introduction: Childhood obesity is one of the greatest public health challenges of our time, both in developed and developing countries. Diet and eating habits influence many health risks, which may lead to chronic diseases. Obesity is defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that may impair health. Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted using a descriptive method. The following databases were searched: PubMed, CINAHL, and Web of Science. Sources were selected with the help of a PRISMA diagram, and thematic analysis and data synthesis were performed. Results: Out of 268 identified articles, 11 were included in the final analysis. The findings indicate that the risk of developing obesity does not stem solely from individual parental dietary habits, but rather from their interplay with other contributing factors. Children growing up in families with appropriate dietary patterns are better protected against obesity, whereas environments characterized by unhealthy diets, irregular meal structures, and lack of parental supervision represent a significant risk factor. Discussion and Conclusion: The family environment plays a crucial role in shaping children’s eating habits and, consequently, their risk of obesity. Raising parental awareness and involving them in clinical management is essential.
