V teoretičnem delu predstavim osnove umetne inteligence in vlogo distribucijskih skladišč, nato pa s študijo primera analiziram in implementiram tehnološko-logistično rešitev v izbranem podjetju. Metodološki pristop vključuje analizo zgodovinskih podatkov, napovedovanje povpraševanja in kvalitativni del z intervjuji zaposlenih, kar omogoča natančno prepoznavanje potreb uporabnikov sistema. Delo naslavlja tudi omejitve, povezane z anonimnostjo podjetja in časovnimi okvirji implementacije. Rezultati izpostavljajo pomen povezovanja napovedovalnih orodij z logističnimi procesi in prikazujejo, kako sodobne prakse umetne inteligence pripomorejo k učinkovitejšemu in predvidljivemu upravljanju zalog in skladiščnih aktivnosti.

Title:Use of artificial intelligence for process optimization in a distribution warehouse - case study
Abstract:In my master's thesis I address the problem of uneven distribution of work in the central warehouse of a partner company that operates as an independent unit of a multinational corporation in Slovenia. Fluctuations in daily orders from stores lead to employee overload or periods of inactivity. The purpose of the research is to use artificial intelligence forecasting methods to optimize warehouse process planning and better balance employee workloads. In the theoretical part, I present the basics of artificial intelligence and the role of distribution warehouses and then use a case study to analyse and implement a technological and logistical solution in a selected company. The methodological approach includes historical data analysis, demand forecasting, and a qualitative part with employee interviews, which enables accurate identification of the needs of system users. The work also addresses limitations related to company anonymity and implementation timeframes. The results highlight the importance of integrating forecasting tools with logistics processes and show how modern artificial intelligence practices contribute to more efficient and predictable inventory management and warehouse activities.
