Ugotovitve potrjujejo pomen notranjih psiholoških dejavnikov, zlasti osebnostnih značilnosti in modrosti, kot osrednjih virov uspešnega staranja.

Title:Correlation between the big five personality factors and wisdom and successful aging
Abstract:The aim of this master's thesis was to explore how the dimensions of the Big Five personality traits and wisdom are associated with successful aging. The study included 107 older adults who completed self-report questionnaires on personality (BFI), wisdom (SD-WISE), and successful aging (SAS). We also examined the influence of living environment, education, and gender on three key dimensions of successful aging: healthy lifestyle, adaptability and coping, and engagement with life. The results showed that living at home, compared to institutional care, was not associated with higher levels of successful aging. Higher education was positively related to successful aging, but this effect disappeared when controlling for psychological variables. Among personality traits, openness, conscientiousness, and extraversion predicted higher scores on various dimensions of successful aging, whereas neuroticism was consistently a negative predictor. The strongest predictor of successful aging was wisdom. Furthermore, wisdom was significantly and positively associated with openness, agreeableness, and extraversion. No statistically significant gender differences were found in the effects of personality traits on successful aging, although graphical trends suggested stronger effects in women. These findings highlight the importance of internal psychological factors, especially personality traits and wisdom, as key resources for successful aging.
