Abstract:Podnebne spremembe vse pogosteje povzročajo visoke temperature in močno sončno obsevanje, kar pri jablanah vodi v pojav toplotnega in svetlobnega stresa ter sončnih ožigov na plodovih. Ti povzročajo zmanjšanje kakovosti in tržne vrednosti pridelka.

Title:Using Biostimulants to Alleviate Thermal Stress in Apple Tress
Abstract:Climate change is increasingly causing high temperatures and intense solar radiation, which lead to thermal and light stress in apple trees, resulting in sunburn damage to the fruits. These effects reduce the yield in both quality and market value. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the application of various biostimulants can mitigate the negative effects of thermal stress in apple tress. The experiment was carried out in an orchard at Osojniki pri Ptuju in 2023. Different preparations based on hydrogen peroxide, seaweed extracts, calcium carbonate, chitosan, and other mineral and organic components were tested. The results showed no significant differences in total yield among treatments. The use of biostimulants significantly reduced the proportion of sunburned fruits and damaged fruit surface area. The most effective reduction of sunburn damage was observed in treatments with hydrogen peroxide, particularly hydrogen peroxide 2 and 3. The application of biostimulants has proven to be an effective measure for reducing the impact of thermal stress in apple trees, thereby helping to maintain both fruit quality and market value.
