Title:Development and user experience testing of a sustainable lifestyle promotion prototype
Abstract:The purpose of the master's thesis was to develop a prototype of a mobile application that promotes a sustainable lifestyle among young people, and to analyze the user experience by observing behavior and analyzing facial expressions using the iMotions tool. Young people are often not aware enough of the impact of their daily decisions on the environment, so we propose using an application that presents an individual's impact on the environment based on inputted mobility data. The prototype was created in Figma, and user experience testing was conducted based on predefined tasks, in which participants explored the functionality of the application. The iMotions tool's facial expression analysis module was used to collect emotional responses, which allows for the detection of basic emotions. The results of the analysis showed that the first task elicited the most positive emotions and emotional involvement, indicating the clarity and intuitiveness of the task. In the second and third tasks, the positive valence and perceived enjoyment significantly decrease, which is consistent with observations of confusion in understanding the instructions and goals of the task. There were very few negative emotional responses, indicating that the prototype did not cause frustration, but rather cognitive confusion. The master's thesis emphasizes the importance of clear instructions, thoughtful task structure, and the inclusion of biometric methods, as these enable a more objective understanding of the user experience. The prototype represents the foundation for further development of a digital solution that could contribute to greater awareness and promotion of sustainable habits among students.
