Osrednji del naloge obravnava telesno pripravljenost policistov z vidika razvoja motoričnih sposobnosti, pomena športnega treniranja in preventive pred poškodbami. V psihološkem delu so analizirani osebnostni dejavniki, stres, agresija, motivacija in vpliv čustev na delo policista, pri čemer je izpostavljen pomen notranje motivacije in čustvene inteligence. V nadaljevanju naloga poudarja pomen pravilne prehrane, zadostne hidracije in kakovostnega spanca, saj ti dejavniki neposredno vplivajo na učinkovitost, zbranost in odzivnost policistov, zlasti pri delu v nepredvidljivih razmerah in izmenah. Cilj dela je oblikovati priporočila za ohranjanje psihofizične pripravljenosti, pri čemer zaključki potrjujejo, da celostna skrb za telo in psiho pomembno prispeva k varnemu, učinkovitemu in dolgotrajnemu opravljanju policijskega poklica.

Title:Psyshophysical preparation of a police officer
Abstract:The BA thesis titled Psychophysical Preparation of a Police Officer addresses the importance of a holistic approach to police officers’ readiness, encompassing both physical and psychological components. Police work is highly demanding and requires a high level of physical fitness, psychological resilience, stress tolerance, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively. The thesis presents the history and organization of the Slovenian police, as well as the recruitment process, which already evaluates candidates’ psychophysical capabilities at the outset. The core of the thesis focuses on physical readiness, examining the development of motor skills, the importance of regular training, and injury prevention. The psychological section analyzes personality traits, stress, aggression, motivation, and the influence of emotions on police work, emphasizing the importance of intrinsic motivation and emotional intelligence. Further, the thesis highlights the role of proper nutrition, sufficient hydration, and quality sleep, as these factors directly impact officers’ efficiency, focus, and responsiveness—especially in unpredictable and shift-based work environments. The aim of the thesis is to provide recommendations for maintaining psychophysical fitness, with findings confirming that comprehensive care for both body and mind significantly contributes to safe, efficient, and sustainable police service.
