Diplomsko delo obravnava pomen vitke logistike v sodobnem poslovnem okolju, kjer so podjetja izpostavljena pritiskom po zniževanju stroškov, skrajševanju pretočnih časov in večji prilagodljivosti dobavnih verig. Študija primera podjetja Bosch omogoča poglobljen vpogled v uporabo vitke logistike v realnem poslovnem okolju. Rezultati raziskave potrjujejo, da vitka logistika prispeva k zmanjšanju operativnih stroškov, izboljšanju pretočnosti in večji preglednosti procesov, hkrati pa razkrivajo izzive, povezane z digitalizacijo, organizacijsko kulturo in odpornostjo na motnje. Delo prispeva k boljšemu razumevanju vitke logistike in ponuja praktična priporočila za podjetja, ki želijo vitke principe učinkovito vključiti v svoje logistične sisteme.

Title:The importance of lean logistics for a company's operations/business
Abstract:Lean logistics represents an important approach to improving business performance by focusing on waste elimination, process optimization, and the creation of customer value. This thesis examines the role and significance of lean logistics in a modern business environment characterized by strong pressure to reduce costs, shorten lead times, and increase supply chain flexibility. The theoretical part is based on the development of lean philosophy, its core principles, and key tools such as Just-in-Time, Kanban, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping, and analyzes their impact on costs, flow efficiency, quality, and responsiveness of logistics processes. Particular attention is given to a critical evaluation of lean logistics in relation to supply chain resilience and its alignment with contemporary concepts such as Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0. The empirical part is based on case studies of Toyota, DHL, Danfoss, Nike, and Bosch, illustrating how the implementation of lean principles affects logistics performance in practice. A case study of Bosch provides an in-depth insight into the application of lean logistics in a real business setting. The findings confirm that lean logistics contributes to cost reduction, improved process flow, and greater transparency, while also highlighting challenges related to digitalization, organizational culture, and vulnerability to disruptions. The thesis contributes to a deeper understanding of lean logistics and offers practical recommendations for companies seeking to implement lean principles effectively in their logistics systems.
