Uporaba odpadne biomase pretvarja odpadke v vir energije in preprečuje neposredno sežiganje odpadkov. Analizirani so bili naslednji parametri: vsebnost vlage, kurilna vrednost, pepelnatost in gostota delcev.

Title:Use of agriculture by-products in the form of heating briquettes
Abstract:Agricultural production generates by-products that could replace coal, oil, and other highly polluting fuels. The use of waste biomass converts waste into an energy source and reduces the need for direct incineration. This thesis examined the use of agricultural by-products in the form of heating briquettes and compared them with wood briquettes. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the key physical and energy properties of briquettes made from corn cobs and straw and to compare them with briquettes made from spruce and oak. The following parameters were analyzed: moisture content, calorific value, ash content, and particle density. The results showed that all analyzed briquettes had sufficiently low moisture content for effective use in heating systems. Straw briquettes had the lowest moisture content, whereas oak briquettes had the highest. Spruce briquettes achieved the highest energy value, mainly due to their high volatile matter content. Oak briquettes showed a stable but slightly lower energy value, which was related to their higher moisture content. Among agricultural residues, corn cob briquettes proved to be the most suitable for heating due to their good energy value and low ash content. Compared to wood briquettes, straw briquettes had a significantly higher ash content, increasing the risk of slagging and corrosion in the combustion chamber. Corn cob briquettes had the highest particle density, contributing to greater mechanical durability and stability during transport. Oak briquettes had the lowest particle density, while straw briquettes, despite their relatively good density, had poorer strength and lower energy value.
