Abstract:
Sepsa je življenjsko ogrožajoče stanje, ki nastane zaradi neustreznega imunskega odziva gostitelja na okužbo in lahko povzroči okvaro enega ali več organov. Najtežjo obliko sepse predstavlja septični šok. Eden izmed ključnih ukrepov pri zdravljenju pacientov s septičnim šokom je zgodnje prepoznavanje sepse in pravočasna uvedba protimikrobne terapije.

Efficacy of early antimicrobial therapy in the treatment of septic shock
Abstract:
Sepsis is a life-threatening condition resulting from a dysregulated host immune response to infection and can lead to dysfunction of one or more organs. The most severe form of sepsis is septic shock. One of the key measures in the treatment of patients with septic shock is the early recognition of sepsis and the timely initiation of antimicrobial therapy.
