Abstract:V magistrski nalogi je obravnavana avtomatizacija projektnih nalog z uporabo umetne inteligence v okolju Microsoft Project.

Title:Task automation in projects using artificial intelligence in microsoft project
Abstract:This master’s thesis explores opportunities for automating project management tasks using artificial intelligence within the Microsoft Project environment. The main objective is to assess to what extent a large language model (ChatGPT) can support a project manager during key planning activities: creating a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), proposing task sequencing and dependencies, estimating durations, assigning resources, and identifying project risks. The experimental part is based on a realistic case project involving the assembly and commissioning of a production line for cross-laminated timber (CLT). Two schedules were developed: Plan A without the use of artificial intelligence and Plan B supported by ChatGPT as an assistive tool. For Plan B, carefully prepared prompts were used, after which the generated proposals were manually reviewed, adjusted, and transferred into Microsoft Project. Based on the findings, artificial intelligence is evaluated as an effective assistant for generating drafts, checklists, and initial proposals, rather than a replacement for the project manager. The greatest added value is achieved in routine and analytical tasks, while decision-making, stakeholder alignment, and final validation of schedule logic remain the responsibility of the human project manager.
