Tabelo o abundancah in ekoloških značilnostih smo uporabili pri statistični obdelavi v programu RStudio, kjer smo s pomočjo linearne regresije in modelov proučili pomen posamezne cenilke biodiverziete.

Title:Taxonomic, functional and phylogenetic diversity of wintering birds on the Drava river
Abstract:Biodiversity is crucial for the stability of ecosystems, and birds, due to their sensitivity to environmental changes, often serve as indicators of these changes. The Drava River represents one of the most important areas for waterbirds in Slovenia, as more than 20,000 birds regularly winter there, including many rare species. For this reason, several IBA (Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas) and Ramsar sites have been designated along the Drava River, and the area is also included in the Natura 2000 network. Data on bird abundance and species are collected through the January waterbird census, which has been conducted in Slovenia since 1988. Regular monitoring enables the assessment of abundance, distribution, and population trends, which forms the basis for identifying priority conservation areas and monitoring the effectiveness of nature conservation measures. To measure biodiversity, we use approaches that evaluate taxonomic, phylogenetic, and functional diversity, which provide insight into the ecological condition of habitats and contribute to a better understanding of ecosystem functions. In this master's thesis, we collected data on bird abundance and species for the period from 2000 to 2024 and supplemented them with functional traits of selected species and their phylogenetic relationships. The table of abundances and ecological characteristics was used for statistical analysis in the RStudio program, where we examined the importance of individual biodiversity indices using linear regression and models. The January surveys on the Drava River during the period 2000 - 2024 showed a relatively stable average number of species and average abundance of wintering birds, while some biodiversity indices increased (taxonomic and functional, but not phylogenetic). Biodiversity indices are interconnected, but they respond differently to changes. We conclude that the Drava River represents an important habitat for numerous bird species and highlights the need for continued conservation and protection of this ecosystem.
