Abstract:	Magistrsko delo obravnava problem neustrezne rabe in postopne degradacije arhitekturne kulturne dediščine na primeru dvorca Šentjanž na Dravskem polju, zgodnjobaročnega objekta iz 17. stoletja, ki danes nima jasno opredeljene funkcionalne vloge. Obravnavan primer je umeščen v širši kontekst izzivov varovanja nepremične dediščine v Sloveniji, kjer pomanjkanje dolgoročnih razvojnih strategij, nejasne lastniške strukture in omejena vpetost v sodobno družbeno življenje pogosto vodijo v postopno propadanje tovrstnih objektov. Naloga izhaja iz izhodišča, da lahko premišljeno opredeljena nova raba predstavlja ključen dejavnik za dolgoročno ohranjanje in ponovno aktivacijo kulturne dediščine. V tem okviru obravnava možnosti programske in prostorske prenove dvorca ter njegovega neposrednega okolja, pri čemer se kot osrednja funkcija predvidi javni kulturno-izobraževalni program knjižnice, dopolnjen z ustrezno prostorsko nadgradnjo. Območje obdelave vključuje tudi prenovo obstoječih neaktivnih gospodarskih objektov in vzpostavitev novih javnih površin, ki skupaj oblikujejo prepoznavno lokalno središče. Rezultat naloge je predlog celostne prostorske in programske ureditve, ki temelji na načelih trajnostne rabe, ohranjanja kulturne identitete ter krepitve družbenega življenja v lokalnem okolju. Dvorec in njegovo širše območje sta obravnavana kot potencialni nosilec novega javnega programa ter kot prostor, ki lahko s primerno prenovo ponovno pridobi aktivno vlogo v strukturi kraja.

Title:	Revitalisation of the Šentjanž mansion in the Drava plain
Abstract:	The master’s thesis addresses the problem of inappropriate use and the gradual degradation of architectural cultural heritage, using the case of the Šentjanž Mansion in Dravsko polje, an early Baroque building from the 17th century that today lacks a clearly defined functional role. The case study is situated within the broader context of challenges in the protection of immovable heritage in Slovenia, where the lack of long-term development strategies, unclear ownership structures, and limited integration into contemporary social life often lead to the gradual deterioration of such structures. The thesis is based on the premise that a carefully defined new use can represent a key factor for the long-term preservation and reactivation of cultural heritage. Within this framework, it explores the possibilities for programmatic and spatial renovation of the mansion and its immediate surroundings, proposing a public cultural-educational library program as the central function, complemented by appropriate spatial upgrades. The intervention area also includes the renovation of existing inactive auxiliary buildings and the establishment of new public spaces, which together form a recognizable local centre. The result of the thesis is a proposal for a comprehensive spatial and programmatic arrangement based on the principles of sustainable use, preservation of cultural identity, and strengthening of social life in the local environment. The mansion and its wider area are considered as potential carriers of a new public program and as a space that, through appropriate renovation, can regain an active role within the structure of the settlement.
