Title:Remote work in generation z
Abstract:Remote work is becoming an increasingly widespread form of employment and has therefore become an important part of the modern labour market. Generation Z faces specific challenges as well as numerous opportunities in this context. The theoretical part of the thesis presents key concepts of remote work, the characteristics of Generation Z, and the psychological, organizational, and technological aspects of this modern way of working. Particular attention is given to digital competencies, flexibility, work–life balance, and the impact of modern communication tools on employee motivation and connectedness. The empirical part is based on a survey conducted among 132 members of Generation Z. The aim of the research was to examine how young people perceive remote work, what advantages and disadvantages they recognize, and what their expectations are regarding the future of work. The results show that most respondents perceive remote work positively, mainly due to increased flexibility, which also contributes to higher motivation. However, the presence of distractions in the home environment can negatively affect productivity. The research also indicates that remote work can have a positive impact on individuals’ psychological well-being, but at the same time it may reduce social interaction and the sense of belonging within a team. Generation Z proved to be highly digitally skilled, yet they expect continuous technical support and opportunities for additional training from their employers. The thesis provides insight into modern forms of work and offers recommendations for employers who aim to create a work environment adapted to the new generation of employees—one based on trust, flexibility, clear guidelines, and the maintenance of human connection in a digital work environment.
Keywords:generation Z, remote work, digitalization, flexibility.
