Abstract:V diplomski nalogi so bili preučeni dejavniki, povezani s pripravljenostjo prebivalcev občine Kočevje za prijavo kaznivega dejanja policiji.

Title:Factors related to Kočevje residents' decision to report a crime
Abstract:In this thesis, factors related to the willingness of residents of the Municipality of Kočevje to report a crime to the police were examined. The aim of the study was to determine whether the time required to report a crime, the perceived seriousness of the offence, the level of trust in the police, and prior victimization experience are associated with the likelihood of reporting. Data was collected through an online questionnaire created on the 1KA Arnes platform, with 233 participants included in the study. Willingness to report was assessed based on ten hypothetical crime scenarios under three different reporting time intervals. Data was analysed using paired-samples t-tests, Spearman’s and Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and an independent samples t-test. It was found that willingness to report decreases significantly as the time required for reporting increases. A significant positive association between perceived seriousness of the offence and the likelihood of reporting was also confirmed. A weak but statistically significant positive relationship was found between trust in the police and willingness to report, whereas no significant differences in willingness to report were found with regard to prior victimization.
