Abstract:	Že od začetkov je ritual predstavljal pomembno iztočnico v razvoju človeka, kot da je v ponavljanju dejanj pračlovek iskal uteho in pristan nasproti nepredvidljivi naravi. Danes ni nič drugače. Vsakdanja ritualna opravila nam vlivajo občutek varnosti in pomiritve, ki je v vsakodnevnem vrvežu tako dobrodošla. Ni dvoma, da so med modernim človekom kamene dobe Homo sapiens sapiens-om in današnjimi ljudmi, ostale določene povezave. Na eni strani iščemo varnost v nespremenljivem ritmu vsakdanjih opravil, na drugi strani pa smo nenehno nezadovoljni, saj nas preganja želja po preseganju danega, po razumevanju neznanega in nedoumljivega, vera v nekaj boljšega. Kot pračlovek se še danes borimo, da premagamo svojo temeljno nepotešenost na tem planetu. Pri tem nam uspešno pomagata tako religija kot umetnost, ki nemara izhajata obe iz istega vira: rituala. Povsem jasno je, da imata skupne korenine. Vendar se znanstveniki še vedno prepirajo, kaj je bilo prej religija ali umetnost. In še drugače: ali je sploh mogoča umetnost, ki ni v (takšnem ali drugačnem) razmerju z religioznim v človeku?

Title:	Artistic expression of magic-religious behavior of primitive men
Abstract:	From the very beginning, a ritual represented an important starting-point in the evolution of man, as if the primitive man was by repetitive acts seeking for consolation and sanctuary from the unpredictable nature. Today, not much has changed. Everyday rituals give us the feeling of security and calmness and that is what one needs in one’s busy schedule. There is no doubt that there are some connections that remained between the modern Stone Age Homo sapiens and today's people. In the unchangeable rhythm of everyday chores, we are, on the one side, seeking for security and on the other, we are constantly dissatisfied because the desire to supersede what we have already accomplished is driving us further. We desire to understand the unknown and incomprehensible and are driven by our faith in something better. Just like the primitive man, we are still fighting to supersede our fundamental thirst for knowledge on this planet. In this battle, religion and art are very supportive, and they might both derive from the same source: the ritual. It is perfectly clear that religion and art have the same roots. Nevertheless, the scientists still argue about what came first. Or in other words: is art that is not in relation to the religious man even possible?
