Abstract:Uvod: SB2 se dandanes vse pogosteje pojavlja pri otrocih in mladostnikih, kar predstavlja pomemben javnozdravstveni izziv. S strokovnimi nasveti in nefarmakološkimi ukrepi lahko učinkovito preprečimo pojavnost in možne zaplete. Metode: Izveden je bil pregled znanstvene literature v podatkovnih bazah: PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate in Web of science.

Title:THE PREVENTIVE MEASURES IN THE MANAGEMENT OF TYPE 2 DIABETES IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS
Abstract:Introduction: T2D is becoming increasingly common among children and adolescents, posing a significant public health challenge. With professional guidance and non-pharmacological measures, we can effectively prevent its onset and potential complications. Methods: A review of the scientific literature was conducted in the following databases: PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate and Web of Science. We used the PRISMA diagram to select sources. For the analysis, we reviewed the content of the included articles. Results: Of 352 scientific articles, we included 8 in the analysis. The literature analysis showed that preventive measures are important for managing T2D in children and adolescents: a balanced diet to maintain stable blood glucose levels and regular physical activity, which improves insulin sensitivity and reduces the risk of complications. It is important to build interpersonal relationships that positively influence mental health and to collaborate with healthcare professionals. In the content analysis process, we identified four subcategories: physical activity, dietary habits, mental health, and interpersonal relationships. Discussion and conclusion: The review confirms that preventive measures are important for managing T2D. They are crucial for preventing negative long-term consequences, as they help avoid disease progression.
