| Abstract: | Quality management in a company is one of the key indicators of its long-term existence and success on the market, where it is exposed to increasingly demanding customer requirements, global competition, technological progress, and other constant changes. In order to ensure their continued operation, companies must adapt to these conditions by satisfying the requirements of customers and other stakeholders as effectively as possible. Companies address this objective systematically by introducing formal approaches, methods, and quality management systems, among which the ISO 9001:2015 standard is one of the most commonly used. In this master’s thesis, we examined different approaches to quality assurance and the implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system in a selected company, together with an analysis of its effects.
In addition to the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, we also examined the approaches of Total Quality Management, Six Sigma, the 20 Keys methodology, the EFQM Excellence Model, and the Balanced Scorecard, and compared them from different perspectives. Special attention is paid to the ISO 9001:2015 standard, its fundamental principles and its role in organizing business processes and ensuring greater transparency in company operations.
In the empirical part, we examined the subsidiary of a global manufacturer of connectivity solutions and presented a detailed description of the implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system in the company in accordance with all its requirements, as well as its effects on business operations after implementation. The analysis of the results includes the effects of the implementation on business processes, the culture of continuous improvement and business performance indicators such as revenue, profit, the number of customers, value added per employee, and the number of complaints, while also describing several other effects. The analysis showed several positive changes in most of the analyzed areas.
Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of a quality management system can represent an important milestone for a company, as it represents the next stage in the organization of business processes, the improvement of product and service quality, the strengthening of its reputation among customers, and support for long-term successful operation in the market. |
