Iskanje je potekalo v podatkovnih bazah Wiley Online Library, Web of Science in PubMed v mesecu februarju 2026.

Title:The link between sexually transmitted diseases and male infertility
Abstract:Infertility affects a large proportion of couples of reproductive age, with the male factor being the cause in half of all cases. Sexually transmitted diseases such as chlamydial infections, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis and syphilis can affect male reproductive syste and are associated with infertility. The purpose of this thesis is to present the link between sexually transmitted diseases and infertility in men. A literature review was conducted. The search was carried out in Wiley Online Library, Web of Science and PubMed databases in February 2026. The data were analyzed using content analysis, the strength of evidence was assessed, and they were presented in a flow chart. The results show that sexually transmitted diseases are closely related to the motility, concentration and morphology of male sex cells. The findings indicate a significant association between the presence of sexually transmitted diseases and altered semen parameters, suggesting a link to the risk of male infertility. The literature rewiev highlights the link between sexually transmitted diseases and male infertility, the importance of early detection, prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, and the crucial role of nurses in educating the population about healthy sexual life, sexual transmitted diseases testing, regular condom use and sexual behaviour.
