Abstract:	Magistrska naloga obravnava izbiro ERP rešitve kot strateško odločitev podjetja v okviru digitalne preobrazbe. Izhaja iz stališča, da kakovost odločanja v fazi izbire ERP pomembno vpliva na uspešnost nadaljnje uvedbe in na realizacijo pričakovanih poslovnih učinkov. V središču raziskave je vprašanje, kako projekt izbire zasnovati tako, da je odločitev sledljiva in poslovno utemeljena, pri čemer naloga poveže strateško poravnavo rešitve s cilji podjetja, procesno-funkcionalno ujemanje z zahtevami ter izvedbeno in ekonomsko izvedljivost (tveganja, organizacijska pripravljenost, TCO/ROI). Teoretični del prikazuje razvoj in vlogo ERP rešitev in utemeljuje, da digitalizacija brez integracije pogosto vodi v razdrobljenost podatkov, ročne uskladitve in omejeno preglednost. ERP je predstavljen kot integracijska platforma, ki omogoča enotno podatkovno osnovo, standardizacijo procesov in podporo poslovnim tokovom, kar izboljšuje preglednost in podporo odločanju. Obravnavan je tudi projekt izbire ERP kot ključna faza življenjskega cikla sistema, pri čemer so izpostavljeni dejavniki, ki vplivajo na kakovost izbire, in najpogostejša organizacijska in izvedbena tveganja, relevantna že pred uvedbo. Empirični del predstavlja študijo izvedljivosti za podjetje X kot ex-ante presojo. Vključuje analizo obstoječega stanja, ciljev in zahtev naročnika, oblikovanje ožjega izbora ERP alternativ, primerjalno vrednotenje po enotnih kriterijih ter analizo praznin (angl. Fit–Gap Analysis). Na tej osnovi je ocenjena izvedljivost rešitve SAP S/4HANA glede na funkcionalno in tehnološko ustreznost, organizacijske pogoje izvedbe, tveganja ter ekonomsko upravičenost prek TCO/ROI. Ugotovitve kažejo, da se SAP S/4HANA glede na specifičnost podjetja X uvršča med najprimernejše alternative, pri čemer je priporočilo pogojeno z jasnimi predpostavkami glede standardizacije procesov, kakovosti podatkov, razpoložljivosti virov in upravljanja sprememb.

Title:	Selection of SAP S/4HANA as a Strategic Decision of Company X
Abstract:	This master’s thesis addresses the selection of an ERP solution as a strategic decision of a company within the context of digital transformation. It starts from the premise that the quality of decision-making in the ERP selection phase significantly affects the success of the subsequent implementation and the realization of the expected business effects. The central focus of the research is the question of how to design the ERP selection project so that the decision is traceable and business-justified. In this context, the thesis connects the strategic alignment of the solution with the company’s objectives, the process and functional fit with requirements, and implementation and economic feasibility (risks, organizational readiness, and TCO/ROI). The theoretical part presents the development and role of ERP solutions and argues that digitalization without integration often leads to fragmented data, manual reconciliations, and limited transparency. ERP is presented as an integration platform that enables a single data foundation, process standardization, and support for end-to-end flows, thereby improving transparency and decision support. The ERP selection project is also addressed as a key phase in the system life cycle, with emphasis on the factors that affect the quality of selection and on the most common organizational and implementation risks that are already relevant before implementation. The empirical part presents a feasibility study for Company X as an ex-ante assessment. It includes an analysis of the current state, the client’s objectives and requirements, the development of a shortlist of ERP alternatives, comparative evaluation based on uniform criteria, and a Fit–Gap assessment. On this basis, the feasibility of SAP S/4HANA is assessed in terms of functional and technological suitability, organizational conditions for implementation, risks, and economic justification through TCO/ROI. The findings show that, in the context of Company X, SAP S/4HANA ranks among the most suitable alternatives, while the recommendation is conditional on clear assumptions regarding process standardization, data quality, resource availability, and change management.
