Iskanje znanstvenih virov je potekalo v mednarodnih podatkovnih bazah CINAHL Utimate (EBSCOhost), MEDLINE (EBSCOhost), PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science in Wiley Online Library.

Title:Effectiveness of psychoactive substances prevention programs for adolescents
Abstract:Introduction: The use of psychoactive substances among adolescents represents a significant public health issue with long-term consequences for individuals and society. Prevention programs play a key role in reducing risky behaviors and promoting positive lifestyle habits, therefore, their effectiveness requires further investigation. The aim of our thesis was to examine the effectiveness of prevention programs targeting psychoactive substance use among adolescents. Methods: A literature review was conducted. Scientific sources were searched in international databases including CINAHL Ultimate (EBSCOhost), MEDLINE (EBSCOhost), PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and Wiley Online Library. The process of study identification and selection was presented using a PRISMA diagram. A critical review of the studies was conducted using JBI tool. Data synthesis was summarized in a synthesis table. Results: A total of 14 studies were included, comprising 10 randomized controlled trials and 4 systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials. The analyzed studies addressed various prevention programs for psychoactive substance use among adolescents in both school and family settings. More than half of the studies reported positive effects of these programs. Discussion and Conclusion: Prevention programs are generally effective, however, their effects are often short-term and largely depend on the quality of implementation, professional delivery, and appropriate adaptation to the target population.
