Abstract:Diplomsko delo nosi naslov Vpliv anksioznosti in stresa na športni dosežek atletov. To so sanje vsakega športnika.

Title:The impact of anxiety and stress on athlete's sporting performance
Abstract:The thesis is entitled The Impact of Anxiety and Stress on Athletes' Sports Achievement. It is written in the field of sports psychology, which deals with athletes, their management and discovering how it affects their performance. It is written with the aim of learning about and understanding mental disorders in sports and advising both athletes and coaches and the general public. In it, we focus on the sport that is considered the queen of all sports, which is athletics. Everything looks perfect until we realize the dark side of sports. The race for money, the pressure of fans, coaches, and the media. That's when the big calculations and planning of each individual match begin. When you're still a youngster, you compete for the sheer pleasure, joy, and hope of one day competing at the Olympic Games. This is every athlete's dream. The biggest competition in the world, thousands of competitors and millions of spectators. But what's hidden behind the scenes? Physically very strenuous training, sacrifices, professionally prepared menus, competitions that require meeting standards just to qualify for major competitions, pressure from coaches, fans and the media. All of the above factors represent stress for an athlete. Stress that is becoming greater day by day. Athletes are supposed to be considered strong personalities, emotionally stable people, but unfortunately, like every person, they are just people who compare themselves to see who is better, more capable of achieving something that others cannot. In the following task, you will learn how anxiety and stress affect the sports performance of athletes.
